We’re getting ready for our anniversary
September 20, 2026New EU rules from 10 October 2026 – CCM has the right solutions

From 10 October 2026, new EU limits will apply to certain fluorinated substances used, among other things, in water-, oil- and dirt-repellent coatings. Specifically, the new rules concern PFHxA and PFHxA-related substances, which may be relevant in certain existing C6 technologies.
Important: C6 is not being generally banned. The decisive factors are the application, the product and the market.
What is changing?
From 10 October 2026, the new limits will apply in the EU to, among other things:
- Clothing and accessories for consumers
- Footwear for consumers
- Impregnation and coating products for consumers
From 10 October 2027, further consumer textiles will follow, e.g. upholstery fabrics, carpets and curtains.
For other applications and for markets outside the EU, the respective legal requirements apply.
Why C6?
Quite simply: because of its performance.
C6 technologies provide particularly strong protection against water, oil, grease, stains and dirt.
Our proven CCM 7689 Dura Tex is also based on this technology. It is free from PFOA and PFOS, but it does contain PFAS.
Requirements are changing – and CCM is prepared.
One Challenge – Three CCM Solutions
Our Approach
PFAS-free wherever possible.
C4 where higher performance is required.
C6 where it remains permitted and appropriate.
Not every application requires the same technology. That is why we monitor regulatory changes at an early stage and continuously develop our portfolio.
As much performance as necessary. As little fluorine chemistry as possible. And always the right technology for the specific application.
